Today…
I’m gonna talk about a dude who truly is an exceptional online marketer.
He lives in a small town just outside Seattle, Washington.
He’s a strange lookin’ cat, but he’s as smart as they come. And…this guy was kind enough to let little ol’ me sell some of my eBooks on his own website, to which I’m incredibly grateful.
Why would I sell my eBooks on his website?
Simple:
His website gets more traffic than mine.
A HELLUVA lot more.
Listen, if you ever come across a marketer who has cracked the code to website traffic and you have a product or service that would make sense to promote on their website, then maybe you should approach that website owner and engage in a quid pro quo.
Just a thought.
Alright, back to my story.
So, his people contacted my people (ME!) and we came to a real win/win business agreement, and thus far, it’s worked out pretty sweet.
Who is this cat?
His name is Jeff Bezos.
And, I heard he’s looking for more products and eBooks to add to his ever-growing website. Do you have an eBook? If so, you should consider throwing them up on his website, too. It doesn’t matter what the topic, either. Although, if you’ve written a good eBook on how to have a good marriage, then I’m sure Jeff would appreciate that (Hey…I’m just trying to help a brother out)
Now, hear this:
Back in the 80’s, Jeff Bezos was a scrawny, zit-faced teenager who flipped burgers at Mickey D’s.
His hourly rate?
$2.69
Fast forward to the present day…Jeff Bezos is now pulling in…
….$8.5 Million Dollars
Per HOUR!
To break that down even more:
Every tick of the clock (every second), another $2,200 dollars gets stuffed into Bezos’ coffers. Jeff Bezos now has so much loot he makes Bill Gates look like a struggling middle-class citizen.
Ah, so what?
How is knowing about Jeff Bezos’ stupendous wealth gonna help you with your business and money-making capabilities?
The answer’s simple:
It ain’t.
But no matter.
Because I’m about to reveal something about Jeff Bezos that WILL help you achieve your business (and life) goals.
Wanna hear it?
Cuz I’m happy to stop here.
You do?
Alrighty then…let’s keep a rollin’. (pay attention now)
Tony Robbins once said that he believes success in life is 80% psychology and 20% mechanics — what you do doesn’t matter if you aren’t in the right mindset.
And by golly, I believe he’s right.
It’s your mindset that determines how far your knowledge and skills will take you.
You see, you could have all the right knowledge and even possess world-class skill, but if you have a “loser mindset”, then no matter what comes your way…
…You Will Find a Way
To Lose!
Now, if that’s the case (and it is), then wouldn’t it behoove us to inspect the mindset of the richest man under God’s blue sky?
I’m glad you agree.
To that end, please read on.
Now, do you know what rich men buy?
They buy luxury sports cars.
Do you know what mega-rich men buy?
They buy yachts and jets.
But what do the very richest men in the world buy?
I’ll tell you:
They buy rockets, spacecraft, and then they start an aerospace company.
And that’s exactly what my good mate Jeff Bezos did in the year 2000 – he founded his Aerospace company called Blue Origin.
Now, dear subscriber, here’s where it gets interesting:
The original logo for Blue Origin was a coat of arms featuring two turtles, orbiting planets, and a Latin phrase that reveals Mr. Bezos’ entrepreneurial mindset which has allowed him to, well, conquer the world!
Here is that Latin phrase:
“Gradatim Ferociter”
Unless you’re well-versed in Latin literature, that will mean bupkis to you.
Here’s what that phrase means:
Step-By-Step, Ferociously!
Below, is Jeff’s explanation of “Gradatim Ferociter” (step-by-step, ferociously)
“Basically, gradatim ferociter means you can’t skip steps, you have to put one foot in front of the other, things take time, there are no shortcuts, but you want to do those steps with passion and ferocity.”
Hm. I think Jeff might be onto something there.
You know, it reminds me of something Jim Rohn once said: “It’s not the hours you put in that matters, it’s what you put into the hours that counts.” Yup, there’s no doubt about it; successful people put more focus, energy, and passion into whatever they do, no matter how seemingly insignificant or menial that task is.
If it’s sweeping the floor, they sweep the damn floor like a champ!
O.K.
Let’s wrap this up. But before I do….
…Below are a few more observations on ol’ Jeffery boy and his ripsnorter of a motto. I think you’ll like ’em.
Here they are:
(1) Jeff Bezos has learned to become obsessed with the process, the grind, the small actions that are repeated day after day after day.
(2) Jeff Bezos has learned to be in the present. You can’t step ferociously if you’re worried about the past or the future. In sport, they call this “being in the zone” or “in the moment”. It’s no different in business.
(3) Jeff has learned to put 100% effort, passion, and focus into everything he does.
Perhaps the best example of gradatim ferociter is how Arnold Schwarzenegger used to work out in the gym, in hope of one day winning Mr. Olympia; which he went on to win 7 times. All throughout his insanely intense workouts, Arnold would be grinning like an infant with a lollypop. This perplexed everyone at the gym. In Arnold’s autobiography, he explains why he always enjoyed the pain and intense workouts: “Cuzz effery rep and set wass gedding me closser to my gowl.”
Ah, ya gotta love Arnie.
Alright. So, there you have it, my friend, a close look at the mindset of the richest man on the planet, and a little Arnie story to boot.
In closing:
Yes, keep learning, keep sharpening your skills, but above all, make damn sure you…
