Dear subscriber,
Get a load of this:
A recent study published in the Harvard Business Review found that storytelling can dramatically help people remember and internalize information better.
Well, congratulations to the Harvard Business Review for discovering fire!
It’s like realizing that using a pen is a better way to write than using your own blood.
That said, the article wasn’t all bad. They did touch on a little-talked-about (but tremendously powerful) benefit of storytelling. And that is this: storytelling helps people make decisions. That, my friend, is why I wrote a book about selling with stories. I cleverly titled it: StorySelling.
After all, isn’t that what selling is all about? It’s helping your prospects make decisions that are in their best interests. And storytelling is hands down the best way to help someone make a decision.
Can you believe it?
Papa Maverick is giving you valuable advice (sometimes free of charge) about storytelling while some poor saps are paying through the nose to listen to some professor drone on about it in a stuffy classroom. It’s like buying a five-star meal at a Michelin restaurant, only to realize your grandma’s meatloaf is way better.
Okay, here’s more:
A study published in the Journal of Marketing Research found that people are more likely to be persuaded by stories rather than statistics or general information.
Well, dear subscriber, you don’t need a smug “I told you so!” from me…
… and smug it would be because tell you I most certainly did.
Your humble friend,

P.S. Look, storytelling is not brain surgery, and you don’t need to spend years in a classroom to master it. All you need is a good story, a willing audience, and the guts to tell it like it is. And if you want to use storytelling to help sell your product or service, this will help: https://kelvindorsey.com/mavericks-storyselling-secrets/
I’m out.
