Suppose You Were an Idiot.

“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But
I repeat myself.” ~ Mark Twain

Dear subscriber,

I tend to repeat myself.

But I make no apologies for that.

In fact, I see that as a strength, not a weakness.

Listen:

A great teacher or coach repeats themselves like a goose shits – if they’re not doing it right now, they’re about to.

Yup, all great teachers and coaches have a mule-headed insistence that their message is heard, understood, and remembered!

That, my friend, is the earmark of any great teacher or coach.

Below are some examples.

The great NFL coach, George Halas, had no qualms about yelling, “Nobody ever regretted doing their best!”, multiple times at every single training session.

Famous acting teacher, Sanford Meisner, didn’t give a damn about sounding like a broken record every time he told an actor, “Act before you think – your instincts are more honest than your thoughts.”

World-renowned marketing teacher Dan Kennedy is not shy about repeating, “A buyer is a buyer is a buyer”, ad nauseam. Heck, even his sayings had repetition!

College basketball coach Bobby Knight was known for constantly screaming at his team the following saying: “Listen, you sons of b****s, the key is not the will to F*****g win… every F***er has that. It is the F*****g will to prepare to win that is important.”

You see, great teachers and coaches understand that there’s a yawning gap between hearing something and remembering that something.

Now, dear subscriber, what is it that YOU repeat to your team, audience, or students? If you don’t have a catchphrase, a motto, or a mantra you keep pounding into the heads of your people, then I dare say you don’t have a philosophy of your own.

Look, the point is this: the things I keep harping on about are the things that will move the needle in your life and business. They may not give you a big dopamine hit, they may not seem exciting, but trust me…

… They Got Teeth!

And… you can be sure that some of the February issue will have some of my most repeated phrases and mottos. But there will be a twist. This time you’re gonna hear them from one of today’s most popular authors. Obviously, this author is highly intelligent.

Okay, boss, I’m about as tired as a sign language interpreter at a Ben Shapiro talk, so…

… lemme wrap this up with this:

If you want the Feb issue, hotfoot it here: https://kelvindorsey.com/mavericks-inner-circle/

I’m out.

Your friend,
