The other C-word

“Everyone is the friend of a person who gives gifts.” ~ Proverbs 19:6

Dear subscriber,

I was inspired to write this email after listening to Adam Carollo’s podcast.

He said something that at first blush seemed humorous, but it also highlighted a powerful truth about human interactions that is very overlooked.

He was talking about employees and work ethic, or let’s be real, the lack thereof.

Corolla said this:

“You can be the shittiest employee in the world, just bring donuts on Monday! You’ll stay employed. They will look past your horrible performance and chow down those donuts.”

***

That’s some job security advice you won’t read in any business book, but solid advice, nonetheless.

OK.

Two takeaways:

(1) Be likable. Being likable is perhaps one of the biggest advantages in all of life.

I know, I know… you’re probably as likable as Keanu Reeves, nobody’s ever said a bad word about you, and the worst thing you’ve ever done is forget to water your plants.

But listen, Captain Charming, we all have our blind spots.

We can all be a little more likable, no?

Well, a surefire way to being likable is by being a generous soul. Think of the last time you committed an act of generosity. If you’re struggling to recall, if the charitable archives are gathering dust, take this little sermon to heart.

(2) If you want to be considered great, you must do your best to be great. If you want to be considered good at what you do, you must do your darnedest to be good. If you’ve settled to be mediocre, you should do your best to always be mediocre. If you want to be a slacker, you must always make sure you are slacking off.

In other words…

…  COMMITT!

You just have to work out which group you want to be in.

Now, for those of you who are chasing after greatness, I ask you this:

If a video crew followed you around for seven days and the footage was viewed for all to see, would the general consensus be, “Yup, that person’s going places!” Or would it be, “What a mess!”

I will annoyingly ask again: are you really committed to greatness?

Listen, I have more respect for the man who has settled for a life of mediocrity and owns it, than a man pretending to be great while his private life is anything but great.

Let’s make it more practical.

When it comes to business, what are you doing to become great? I hope you’re studying the world’s top entrepreneurs and networking like a mofo. You must surround yourself with others who are also chasing after greatness. And that is a very small select group indeed.

Now, I’m no fool.

I know people don’t subscribe to my newsletter to hear my insights into business and wealth creation. However, I can help you with certain aspects of business that, if improved, can help you drag in more loot.

The two areas I can help you with are as follows:

Writing and Sales!

Two topics I covered in the December issue.

How important are these two skills in business?

Well, imagine the following two scenarios:

Imagine if you hit your head and suddenly lost your ability to write and sell. You were still the same old functioning you, nothing else was affected except your ability to write persuasively and sell. In other words, you become like the average jackarse online marketer.

How would that affect your business?

Scenario #2:

You hit your head and suddenly become a shockingly persuasive writer and salesperson. How would that affect your business?

Now, of course, these scenarios are totally hypothetical, but the point here is this:

You CAN improve your writing, and you CAN become great at sales… IF… you commit!

Listen, the greatest commitment you can ever make is…

… The Commitment to Investing
in Yourself!

Because in this world, your best asset is YOU!

The ROI on that is what dreams are made of.

Literally!

Hoo Hah!

I’m cooking on all four burners today, Freckles!!

Oh, I almost forgot.
