Wilde About Sales

Dear subscriber,

Time to use your finely-honed powers of logic, deductive reasoning and keen observation!

Or, you could just delete this email and get on with your day.

Still reading?

Good!

I’ll try and make it worth your while. (No promises)

Now, listen. I want you to read the following Oscar Wilde quote and see if you can extract a sales lesson from Wilde’s insight into human nature, okay?

Here’s the quote:

“When bankers get together they discuss art. When artists get together, they discuss money.” ~ Oscar Wilde

Okay, Skippy, can you come up with a sales lesson from that?

Take your time. I’ll even give you some thinking music to help: “Do-do-  do-badah dah-dah, do-bah-dah do-do do-badah…. ”

Alright! Whatcha got?

What? You say you don’t have time to do such a thing?

Hm. Not gonna lie, dear subscriber. I’m very disappointed in you.

Ah, who am I kidding?

I’ve been spoon-feeding you guys for so long, I’ve basically trained you guys to sit back and watch Papa Maverick do all the heavy lifting.

Look, I don’t really mind, so long as you promise to get off your arse and implement what you learn, okay?

Now, here’s the sales lesson I extracted from Wilde’s quote.

People fixate on what’s missing from their lives instead of appreciating the good things they already have. Your market is, of course, no different. Your market is obsessing over something they really want but don’t yet possess.

Well, as a salesperson/marketer, it’s your job to show your market how your product or service can fulfill that unfulfilled desire.

Now, let me ask you this:

Why do you think there are so many marketers online who use dirty tricks and gimmicks to sell their wares?

Aw, man, there I go again. Foolishly expecting you to participate when I know you’re just gonna sit there sweating like a gigantic cheese.

So, I will, once again, answer the question for you.

The reason so many marketers online use dirty tricks and gimmicks to sell their wares is simple: they don’t truly know their market’s true hot buttons and desires.

Know this:

A well-crafted sales pitch that hits on the wrong desire is like a single laydee flirting with a gay guy – it’s a complete waste of time!

Now listen:

If you’d like some help with finding out your market’s real desires and hot buttons, then turn to page 52 of The 5-Hour Copywriting Speed Course and read the following 9 pages.

What will you see on those pages?

This:

*A “juicy” tip for doing market research. Just Follow what’s taught on page 52 and the insights you’ll get on your market will (1) blow your mind, and (2) help you sell to them the way they want to be sold. Important information to say the least. I can almost guarantee your competition isn’t doing this.

*Sales secrets from the man dubbed the Godfather of Digital Information Products. (For years marketers the world over have been watching this man’s every move to see if they can reverse engineer his strategies and tactics, most of them fail miserably. Here’s why they fail… and… here’s what you should really learn from this legendary marketer… – pages 57-61)
